This post has been a long time coming. We’ve talked about a blog for a good while now but I was never comfortable enough in the company’s skin to make a decision as to what we could post about that wasn’t just bullshit fluff.
My question is this: What is the point in having a blog if it doesn’t mean or try achieve something? For me, It’s existence has to be to actually try and contribute something to both my business and to some cause in general.
A decision was loosely made early on that our “cause” is to promote sustainability in business. The thing is, our core business, Energy procurement and contracting, is all about helping our clients to pay less for their energy. In other words it’s all about the mullah. The wonga. The filthy lucre. There isn’t an opportunity to enforce sustainability on our clients even if we wanted there to be. Our “cause” doesn’t really fit with what we are doing on a daily basis.
We’ll have to make it fit.
