Is your business opening back in phase 2?

Screen Shot 2020-06-05 at 15.24.47Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has just announced the hospitality sector can return in phase 2, from 29th June. We can help your business get ready.

60% of businesses closed due to Covid 19 on 27 March.

If your business closed in March but now plans to open up phase 2 or 3 you need to make sure that your energy contracts have not lapsed. This relates to both retail outlets and café/restaurants.

What is a lapsed energy contract?

This is when the contract with your energy supplier has come to an end but they are still supplying you with electricity and gas. However, you will now be paying a standard rate which is 20% higher

As your business was not using energy during lockdown it is understandable if you forget about this aspect of your business. As you move out of lockdown, you will start using energy again so it is important to get it back on your agenda.

For example a restaurant will use little gas if not cooking. But the day they reopen the kWh’s will start to rack up again, which is why it is important to know you are paying the best price available.

Send us in a copy of your last energy bill and we will assist any business reopening with their energy contract management.
